About US

We're a small shop with a wide shelf

Tap Once is an online store selling everyday things for pets, homes, kids and the people who look after all three. Bowls that don't tip. Coats that actually keep a dog warm. Toys that survive a toddler. Nothing revolutionary — just useful objects at a price that makes sense.

We're not going to tell you we were founded in a garage after a life-changing epiphany. We started this because we thought most online shops were doing something badly, and we wanted to try doing it properly.

What we think most stores get wrong

Go to almost any store like ours and read a product page. You'll find the same paragraph of broken English the supplier wrote, pasted straight in. Measurements in units nobody uses. Sizing that runs two sizes small with no warning. A photo of a product doing something it can't actually do.

We've all bought something on that basis and been disappointed. It's a small betrayal, but it's a betrayal.

So we rewrite every product page ourselves. Every one. That means reading the supplier's spec sheet, working out what's actually true, converting the units, and writing it in plain English. Where the supplier's own numbers contradict each other, we publish the more cautious figure. Where a product has a real limitation, we say so on the page rather than letting you discover it after paying.

It takes an absurdly long time. We think it's the whole job.

Where our products come from

We work with overseas manufacturing and fulfilment partners, and most items ship directly from them to you. That's why delivery takes longer than a domestic warehouse, and it's most of the reason our prices are what they are.

Plenty of stores in our position don't mention this. We'd rather you knew at checkout than worked it out from the tracking page. Orders are dispatched within 7 business days and every one ships with tracking.

Things we won't do

We don't write our own reviews. Every review on this site came from someone who bought the product. We don't buy them, we don't incentivise them, and we don't delete the unflattering ones. If a product page has no reviews yet, it says so.

We don't invent urgency. No countdown timers that reset when you refresh, no "only 3 left" on products with full stock, no fake view counts.

We don't hide the catch. If a cooling mat stops working in a still room, if a retractable lead is a bad idea near traffic, if a shoe called a running shoe isn't really a running shoe — we put that on the product page. It costs us sales. It saves you a return and us a complaint, and it means you can believe the rest of what we've written.

If something goes wrong

Parcels get lost. Things arrive damaged. Sizes don't fit despite everyone's best efforts.

You have 30 days from delivery to return anything unused, and 10 days to report a fault with a photo. If an item arrives damaged or wrong, we cover the return postage — or often just refund you and tell you to keep it, because posting a small item across the world costs more than the item is worth. If a parcel genuinely goes missing in transit, that's our problem to solve, not yours.

Email us at contact@taponcestore.com and a person will read it.

Who we are

Tap Once is operated by MD Softech LLC, registered at 5900 Balcones Drive # 4628, Austin, TX 78731, United States.

We're small. That's not a marketing line — it means the person answering your email is the same person who wrote the product description you're reading. If we've got something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.

Thanks for reading this far. Most people don't.
